A Tennessee man could face a stiff sentence after police found him in bed with a purloined mannequin.
Christopher Wade drunkenly stormed into a Hollywood Hustler store in Nashville just after midnight Monday, according to a police affidavit.
The 55-year-old allegedly snatched a $5,000 mannequin from just inside the door and ran off with it, knocking off its left arm in the process.
The store’s associate manager followed the dummy thief to the parking lot and argued with him for a few minutes before he tossed the mannequin in the back of his Toyota Tacoma and drove off.
When police tracked the truck back to the address on the registration, they allegedly found Wade in bed with the stolen goods.
The boozy body thief was booked into jail on a felony theft charge as well as a misdemeanor failure to be booked charge. He was held on $11,000 bail, according to jail records.
If he’s convicted, the Class D felony could carry a sentence of up to 12 years behind bars.
