Bullying is an issue that affects all of us. Whether we have been the bully, been the victim of bullying or witnessed it happening, we have all in some way been exposed to bullying first hand.
Sergei Casper, 17, was constantly being bullied at school by his peers and one day a group of fellow students decided to pull a prank on him.
The bullies thought it would be funny to wrap Casper in plastic wrap and put him feet first into one of the toilets at school. They then decided to take it even further by bringing Casper back to their classroom still fully wrapped up to continue to bully him.
Due to the plastic wrap, Casper was unable to move his legs freely, and eventually lost his balance and fell towards the teacher’s desk. When he fell, Casper struck the desk with his throat and his esophagus was crushed.
As Casper laid on the ground fighting for his life as he struggled to breathe, his classmates continued to taunt him and laugh at him.
Eventually, the laughing stopped as the students realized something was seriously wrong. Unfortunately for Casper, it was too late and he died soon after.
The most haunting thing about the entire situation is that the teacher had apparently been sitting at her desk while this was going on and did not bother to intervene.
“They seemed to think it was hilarious, and then they decided to take their prize back to the classroom where although the teacher was sitting at her desk, she did absolutely nothing to help him,” Alex, a friend of Casper’s, told local media. “He was a good guy, he never did anything bad to anyone and he was my friend. But the others just picked on him all the time.”
